Who is the Homesteading Doula?
Originally from Iowa, and a graduate of Iowa State University, Sarah Halsrud now resides in Midtown Memphis. When she’s not attending a birth or teaching a class, Sarah’s outside with her husband and three kids, soaking in the beauty of the Ozark Mountains on their 10-acre off-grid homestead in rural Williford, AR.
Sarah has helped families of all stages and sizes find calm, peace, and joy in childbirth since 2010. She incorporates the teachings of numerous birthing methods and styles, including the Bradley Method, Hypnobirthing and Hypnobabies, and Birthing from Within.
Sarah is a certified Childbirth Educator and Doula and is extensively trained in relaxation and comfort measures for childbirth. As of early 2014, Sarah is also a trained Lactation Educator.

To provide you with the most up-to-date, effective, and evidence-based coping techniques in labor, Sarah regularly attends birthwork trainings. Most recently, mid-2016 she attending a ProDoula Labor Doula training.
